What is YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Net Worth?

Known as NBA YoungBoy, YoungBoy Never Broke Again has an estimated net worth of $10 million. His rise to fame began between 2015 and 2017 with the release of six independent mixtapes. His popularity surged further with the single “Outside Today” from his debut album “Until Death Call My Name.” In 2019, he experienced more success with the top-ten single “Bandit” and the album “Al YoungBoy 2,” which topped the charts.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, was born in 1999 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Raised mainly by his maternal grandmother due to his father’s lengthy prison sentence of 55 years, he faced challenges early in life, including a neck injury from childhood wrestling that required a head brace, leaving scars on his forehead. After dropping out of high school as a teen, he was arrested for robbery and sent to a detention center in Tallulah, Louisiana, where he began writing lyrics. Upon his release, he moved in with his friend and fellow rapper NBA 3Three after his grandmother passed away, engaging in criminal activities to fund his studio time.

In 2015, Gaulden launched his career with his first mixtape, “Life Before Fame.” He then released several mixtapes, including “Mind of a Menace,” “Before I Go,” and “38 Baby,” the latter featuring rappers Stroke Tha Don and Boosie Badazz. Gaulden generated significant attention for his public feud with rapper Scotty Cain, which involved exchanging death threats through their music. More notoriety followed when he was arrested in Austin, Texas, on charges related to attempted first-degree murder. While incarcerated in East Baton Rouge Parish, he re-released two of his previous mixtapes.

“Al YoungBoy,” “Until Death Call My Name,” and More Mixtapes

In August 2017, building on the momentum from his star-filled video for “41,” Gaulden released the mixtape “Al YoungBoy.” This mixtape marked his biggest success, hitting number 24 on the Billboard 200 and yielding the singles “Untouchable” and “No Smoke.” In 2018, further success came with the single “Outside Today,” which reached number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. Soon after, Gaulden launched his debut studio album “Until Death Call My Name,” which peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200.

In the same year, he released the mixtape titled “Master the Day of Judgement.” Over the summer, he issued a series of four EPs, each containing four tracks. He continued to build his discography with two more mixtapes, “Decided” and “Realer.” By January 2019, due to his consistent and exclusive releases, he earned a spot on YouTube’s list of Top Music Artists.

Further Hit Singles and Albums

After spending 14 months under house arrest, during which he could not record music, Gaulden made a comeback in October 2019 with “Bandit,” a collaboration with rapper Juice Wrld. This single reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Gaulden’s highest-charting single to date.

Up to now, Gaulden has made quite an impact. Soon after, he dropped his mixtape “Al YoungBoy 2,” which soared to the number one slot on the Billboard 200. Notably, it accumulated approximately 144 million on-demand audio streams within its first week, marking it as one of the year’s biggest streaming launches.

Following the success of “Al YoungBoy 2,” he released another successful mixtape titled “Still Flexin, Still Steppin.” In April 2020, he then launched the mixtape “38 Baby 2,” which secured his second album debuting at the top of the Billboard 200. Later that year, he produced yet another chart-topping album, “Top,” introducing singles that reached the Hot 100, such as “Kacey Talk,” “All In,” and “My Window.” Gaulden also released the mixtape “Until I Return,” which was initially available exclusively on YouTube before transitioning to other streaming platforms.

In 2021, Gaulden unveiled “Sincerely, Kentrell,” followed by “The Last Slimeto” in 2022, and in 2023, he dropped “I Rest My Case,” “Don’t Try This At Home,” and “Richest Opp.”

Criminal Activity

Gaulden has consistently been engaged in criminal activities both before and during his music career. A notable incident occurred in November 2016 when he was apprehended in Austin, Texas, after he allegedly jumped from a vehicle to open fire on a group of pedestrians. Consequently, he faced two counts of attempted first-degree murder. After pleading guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, he received a 10-year prison sentence, three years of active probation, with the prison term suspended. Additionally, in early 2018, he was arrested for suspected assault, kidnapping, and weapon crimes; however, he was released shortly thereafter on bail.

In 2019, while on probation, Gaulden retaliated by returning fire after being shot at by an assailant in a black Cadillac Escalade. Although the charges from that shooting were dismissed, he was found to be in violation of his probation due to his association with Trulondrick Norman and Ben Fields. Consequently, he received a sentence of 90 days in jail and was prohibited from performing for 14 months during his house arrest. Later, in September 2020, he was amongst 16 individuals arrested in Baton Rouge for offenses including drug manufacturing and distribution, along with possession of stolen firearms. The following year, he faced another arrest due to a federal warrant, attempting to evade capture by fleeing on foot when federal agents approached his vehicle. In July 2022, he was acquitted of federal firearm charges, and in March 2023, restrictions were lifted from his house arrest, allowing him to have more than three visitors at a time without a curfew.

Personal Life

Gaulden is the father of eleven children, each with nine different mothers; notably, two of his sons, Kacey and Kayden, featured in the music video for his track “Kacey Talk.” In January 2023, he tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Jazlyn Mychelle Hayes, who is the mother of two of his children.

He has expressed his desire to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints once his ankle monitor is taken off.

Real Estate

Upon relocating to Utah, YoungBoy took residence in a $5.2 million property in Salt Lake City. It remains uncertain whether he purchased the home or was renting it from the new owner at the time of writing. Ultimately, he did acquire the home, possibly following an initial rental period. Details regarding the purchase price were not disclosed, but the transaction took place in 2022. In March 2024, he put the house on the market for $5.9 million. Check out this video tour:
